Historical WA beer brands originally from The Redcastle Brewery Ltd in Victoria Park, Perth and The Avon Brewing Co in Northam have now been relaunched by Breheny Brothers Breweries in Perth.
Based on the authentic Breheny Brothers recipe book these easy drinking mainstream beers are now available in WA again
These historical beers were originally brewed by Thomas Carroll Breheny at Avon Brewery in Northam WA in 1934- 35 and Redcastle Brewery in Perth in the 1940s after previously brewing at Globe Brewery in Geraldton WA.
The Avon Brewing Co in Northam was formed in 1907 and later acquired the local Eclipse Brewery.
The Redcastle Brewery Ltd was established in 1912 and was taken over by Swan Brewery in 1951 who then closed the brewery in 1953.
The iconic Redcastle Brewery chimney is still standing today and is a well know landmark in Perth.
Thomas Carroll Breheny was born near Stanley Tasmania in 1897 and was trained as a brewer by his father Michael Breheny at the family owner Breheny Brothers Brewery in Sale, Victoria.
