We have launched First Brewer Lager at Young & Jackson’s hotel with CEO of Rule, Anthony Moore CUB and Breheny Brothers Breweries have collaboratively produced the beer at CUB Abbotsford
First Brewer Lager has been produced as a one off brew to commemorate that the current head brewer at CUB Abbotsford, Sarah Laing is the first female head brewer and that my grandfather, James Patrick Breheny was the first Brewer at Abbotsford in 1904. A small batch of First Brewer Lager has been produced in kegs and CUB have supplied these to some hotels close to Abbotsford Brewery as well as Young & Jackson
Henry Young, licensee of Young & Jackson at the time was 1 of the first directors of Melbourne Co operative Brewing Company when it was established by my grandfather in Abbotsford in 1904. The hotels in Abbotsford also serving First Brewer Lager on tap are the Retreat Hotel, Terminus Hotel and Yorkshire Stingo. Burnley Brewing also canned First Brewer Lager as part of this project.
